On Thursday we continued our 60th anniversary celebrations with a special assembly from Mrs Bearfoot and Sam from our church. The assembly was based on the original opening ceremony in 1955 and included some of the same songs and prayers. Sixty children then read out sixty words that they thought best described St Mark’s school.
When the school first opened a prayer was said in every classroom to ‘hallow’ or bless the school. Sam and a group of children went to each part of the school to say some of those same prayers.
