In year 5, we had a fantastic week learning about the importance of STEAM in the world. We carried out lots of projects, which were related to the topic. We had a visit from a local architect, who helped us design, create and scale our very own dream classroom. We had maths lessons with year 6, who helped us learn more about BIDMAS. In English, we researched, wrote and published biographies about Zaha Hadid (a pioneering female architect, also known as the ‘Queen of the Curve’). In art we looked at shading, and symmetry. We worked on our school-wide art project to create beautiful, symmetrical and artistically shaded butterflies. We really enjoyed this week, and hope you enjoy looking at our work.
