On Monday 29th April Coral Class visited the home of architecture to undertake a 3-hour creative workshop led by the RIBA Learning team. The children began the session by thinking and designing a building. We visited the museum and saw some examples of design. This is a mirrored building. It is set in the English countryside and reflects the surrounding fields. It is camouflaged. The children looked at the structure of buildings. We ate our lunch in one of the board rooms-the children were very impressed with the length of the table! The children were encouraged to critique model buildings and come up with an alternative. The children eagerly began to make their own models. We shared our models and discussed why we had made them, who they were for and any sustainable materials used.
