This week we have been looking at the social consequences of WW2. One of which was rationing. Firstly as a starter we created an average weekly food plan that we normally eat each week.
We learned about how and why rationing was implemented and we also learned that it actually had a very positive impact on the lives of British people as it was a very healthy diet as processed foods and more sugary products were not available.
After this, we researched the specifics of food rationing and how much people were allowed and what kinds of food they made. We then made another meal plan, comparing to our previous one. We discussed if these foods would have still been available and changed them around.
It was great fun and we learned a lot about how varied the food we eat today is!
