Today Year 5 had the fantastic opportunity to go to the Globe Theatre to support their learning of The Tempest by William Shakespeare. They were given a magnificent tour around the theatre and had some time on stage where they performed a small section of The Tempest and earned themselves a round of applause from the crowd!
They then had a drama and analysis session focused on understanding the characters of the play and developing their understanding of Shakespeare’s language and use of iambic pentameter. They morphed themselves into some of the characters including Prospero, Caliban and Ariel and explored themes of fantasy and power.
