This week we have been having lots of fun in our Maths lessons to celebrate London Maths Week.
We started the week with a Maths Roundabout session in the morning. The children got to explore different maths equipment and complete challenges that I set such as weighing and balancing items, creating shapes with specific properties, telling the time and drawing as many different shapes that they could within a given time. During the week, the children also got the opportunity to create a Caesar Cipher Wheel. After this, they made and deciphered codes with their friends. They also created a self-portrait that had to be symmetrical. Lastly, we learned about the artist Piet Mondrian and how he used squares and rectangles when creating his art pieces. We then made our own Mondrian inspired art piece which the children enjoyed doing.
