In our sensory garden we have a bird house and every year the Blue Tit birds make a nest for their babies.
The children in Pearl and Amber class sat quietly in the garden, observing and listening to the sounds of the baby birds. They were so excited when they heard the little “chirps”. We were lucky enough to see the mother bird arrive, sit and check on her babies before flying away. During the small group sessions, the children talked about what they had seen and heard. This linked perfectly with our class topic at the moment, which is ‘NATURE DETECTIVES”.
