POW! Here are all the words we must know by sight before we go to Year 1 (eek!) You already have these in your Home Learning Books but here is another copy (they look slightly different) with the words to learn.
Most of the words are easy to ‘sound out’ with phonics but some are ‘tricky’ i.e. you can’t always use your sounds to work them out. These will need to be learnt by sight to read and write which can be TRICKY!
Try writing them out on cards and sticking them around the house. Decorate them, play games with them to spot the given word. Read them together then challenge your child to find them in a story you are reading.
