Goodnight Mr Tom is a great book because it uses a lot of emotive language and the author really thought about what he was writing. I really liked how nice everyone was in the book, I would recommend this book for anyone over the age of 8 because it can be quite hard to understand if you’re young. It can be very educational book to learn about evacuees and world war 2, it is a story of friendship.
I think Goodnight Mr Tom was a very good and funny book which I really enjoyed. It was a very interesting book with a good moral for children. It ended with a very big cliffhanger when Mr Oakley (Mr Tom) told William your mum wants you back because she’s sick. If you’re interested in World War 2 then this book will tell you about a evacuees life and how a grumpy widower turned into a great happy person. My favourite character is Zach because he is really funny and a playful person. Definitely a 10/10!
Goodnight Mister Tom Review
This story was set at the start of World War 2 (1939).
I enjoyed how William Beech started of with a difficult time in Little Weirwold and soon made lots of friends and really started to make a name for himself. It was also fun when Willie had his very first birthday, with his very first party and very first present. Mr Oakley was grumpy man and soon became much more calm after Willie had evacuated to him. Willie did many more new things that his mother would never let him do. I recommend children who are interested in how evacuees were safe in the countryside.
I would recommend this book to people who like World War 2 because it is based on evacuee life. I like the character named Will because although he is shy his is nice, happy and funny.
Goodnight Mr Tom was a really good book. It was exciting to read and to listen to. I would recommend it to people who have children or are interested in World War 2. Young evacuee William was a fragile boy who came from London with a horrible mother but he learns the truth about her and is taught to have fun and enjoy life by Mr Oakley. Its definitely got to be a 8/10 for me.
I really liked the Goodnight Mr Tom book and it was really exciting and interesting
to experience in English, how it was joyful to see what happened in World War 2, and to know all this knowledge in year 5. English Spring 1. The character Mr Oakley and William Beach were my favourites and were interesting and calming to read, I hope we could learn something more like this book in English!. There is a moral to remember throughout the future and I hope we learn many more things in year 5 and Year 6.
Goodnight Mr Tom is a fantastic book to read . It is interesting because the author used emotive language.

Goodnight Mister Tom is a very good book but it is a fast moving book. It is not adventurous and doesn’t have a lot of action however it is a peaceful and a heartfelt book for other people. It is about evacuee who went to the countryside with Tom and met alot of friends. I recommend this book.
